Strategic
The Early Years Facilities Review
commenced.

Arts and Culture
Service review completed which
outlines suitable venues, both
indoor and outdoor across
Brimbank for performing
arts activities and suggested
improvements.
A refresh of the Hunt Club
Community Arts Centre which
included heating, ventilation,
cooling and air conditioning.
The Gallery spaces and Art
Spaces continue to be operated
and run as creative spaces and
are continually made suitable
for artists and visitors.
A consistent booking system
was implemented across
Council owned centres,
including the Bowery Theatre.
Service reviews completed on
reporting systems which now
captures hiring data for the
community centres, including
STACC.
A full bicycle track audit was
carried out in 2019 and found
the track at the Brimbank
Bicycle Education Centre to be
structurally sound and in overall
good condition. A number of
minor maintenance items were
carried out by Council following
the report.
Community Halls
Strategic review completed with
Scouts Victoria and new lease
agreements in place.
Review of Guides Victoria lease
and licence renewal plan in
Brimbank has commenced.
Senior Citizen Centres now
available to community
groups at restricted hours, to
further increase availability
of community facilities across
the municipality and maximise
usage of existing Council
buildings.
The furniture renewal program
progressing with new and
improved flip tables with
wheels and brakes.
Library Services
The St Albans Library and Deer
Park Library Preliminary Study
was adopted by Council at the
Ordinary Council meeting in July
2020. The Deer Park library and
St Albans library reviewed
their shelving requirements
for collections and based on
the findings invested in new
shelving on mobile castors that
improves access.
Neighbourhood
Houses
Neighbourhood House
Programming has continued
at Keilor Community Hub
and a number of community
programs have taken place
in community spaces and a
shopping centre in Derrimut as
part of an outreach program in
Derrimut and Deer Park.
Funding agreements with
community managed
Neighbourhood Houses
continued in 2020/2021. Each
facility was provided with an
additional COVID-19 grant to
support programming and
resources. A new Brimbank
Neighbourhood Houses
Strategic Partnership and Action
Plan is being finalised through
a collaborative process with
partners. This will go to Council
for endorsement late in 2021.

endorsed in August 2020),
focussing on the recreational
needs of disengaged young
people.

youth spaces as part of the
St Alban’s and Deer Park Library
