Brimbank City Council respectfully acknowledges and recognises
the Kulin Nation including the Wurundjeri and Bunurong Peoples
as the Traditional Owners of this land and waterways and
pays respect to their Elders past, present and future. For the
Traditional Owners the lands in the City of Brimbank have always
been a significant trading and meeting place.
Brimbank has a long Aboriginal history which is evident in the
form of many scattered artefacts, particularly along waterways.
Scar trees, ancient middens, charcoal from hearths, fish and
bird traps, and significant Aboriginal occupation sites are also
plentiful within our local area.
