Ratepayers will notice a considerable increase in State Government

charges for the Fire Services Property Levy on their annual

instalment notice.

Council is not responsible for this fee or setting the amount. Council

is required to collect the levy on behalf of the State Government and

transfer it directly to the State Revenue Office to fund Fire Services.

The State Government is increasing the levy by 22 percent this year.

Local government elections will be on Saturday 26 October 2024.

It will be by postal ballot and conducted on behalf of Council by

the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC). Anyone wishing to

stand as a candidate may submit their nomination between 9am

on 9 September to noon on 17 September 2024. Information
